Building 3D Games with Unity (Beginners)

Welcome to a crash course in using the Unity game engine, where you can extend your creativity and basic programming skills to discover the art of 3D Game Design!

Course Overview:

Unity is a game engine and powerful development platform for creating 3D and 2D games, very popular with students and professionals. It can create games for desktop, mobile devices and even consoles. The software is also free to download, and many of our students continue to use it as a development platform longafter the course is finished.

This course features specialist instructors who will teach the platform and C# programming language, as they guide students through a mix of left and right brain thinking to construct their games. While this is a beginners course, we find our back-to-basics approach means many students will come back for a second or third visit to strengthen their skills and take advantage of our structured tutor-lead projects.

No matter your experience, come along and get ready to create, test and innovate your own game in a fantastic environment.

What Students Will Learn:

  • Familiarity with the Unity Engine UI & Navigation
  • Navigating 3D space, importing and modifying game assets
  • C# Programming in the context of making games
  • Programme with rules and behaviours to create a simple AI
  • Create scoreboard and assign points for actions
  • Create a win/fail event to end the game
  • Exporting in different formats and publishing online.

In addition to learning to use the Unity development platform itself, the course will give students experience with programming logic, game design, 3D modelling, animation techniques and more.
